Are you living like Jesus on the earth? As believers, we have been equipped to live like Jesus and bring the kingdom of God to Earth. Jesus tells us in John 16 that we are not of this world. We have been born from above and sent into this earth to make it align with the way the kingdom of God looks. This is our role as an ambassador. We have come to earth to cause it to look like heaven.
Living Like Jesus
Since we are living in the realm of heaven on the location of earth, let us compare the two realities. Sin brought sickness, disease, and poverty into existence on earth. However, we have come from a kingdom in which sin does not exist. There is no suffering because there is no consequence of sin. As a new creature created in Christ, we are sinless in our spirit. We look identical to our Father. We partake of His divine nature and glory. Just as there were no limitations for God when He walked through the earth in the body of Jesus, so are there no limitations upon us; for we have been given the same spirit.
Thus, we can conclude that in truth, we are from an alternate reality. We operate from a kingdom with unlimited resources and no impossibilities while our location is on earth. We simultaneously live in two realities so we must learn how to allow one to have the power of influence.
Jesus went on in John 17:17 to say that we are sanctified (set apart) by truth and His Word is truth. The Greek word for truth is Alethia and means reality. We are more than mere human; we have God dwelling inside of our skin. In this kingdom, all things are possible. However, many view themselves as only human while wishing and wanting God to bring changes into their situations. Instead of living like Jesus, many of us are living like victims.

Knowing Our Identity in Christ
Do you see the importance of knowing your identity in Christ?
You see, as our Father, He is teaching us our potential. He has given us the same equipment as Jesus so that we could live the same kind of life. As we listen and watch from the heavenly realm, we will hear and see our identity. Just as children watch their dads and begin to do all that is natural for a human, so we watch our heavenly Father and realize the supernatural is natural. We are born with deity in our spirit. God has united Himself to you and you have become one spirit.
Think of it like this: supernatural is only super to a natural mindset and we have united our mind to the mind of Christ. Learning to think as Jesus will cause us to do as He did. This is why He often retreated to be alone so that He could hear and see His Heavenly Father in operation and then He would turn and present the truth of that reality to the natural world.
Just as we are born with all the qualities that enable us to do everything a human can do; we are born heavenly with all the qualities to do exactly what our heavenly Father does. We are born in His image to be like Him and live like Him.
John 17:16-17 states. “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Based on what we have learned, we can understand this scripture to say that to the same degree Jesus is not of this reality, we too are set apart from this world because we have come from the realm of God.

What Does It Look Like to Live Like Jesus?
Here, we must begin to identify ourselves with the same identity we see Jesus to have. We must begin to think as an ambassador and a sent one.
It is simple to understand that we were born by the same Father. This means we are children who naturally reflect the nature of their Creator. With this revelation, we begin to transition in our thought processes and adapt to a heavenly creature in Christ. We conform to the image of a child of God and then begin to display a divine life. Naturally, you begin to operate as you are designed to, thus living like Jesus did. The nature of life that is within you begins to grow, thrive, and reproduce itself on earth. That seed is the all-powerful Word of God.
I have heard it said that when God created man, the angels looked at God and man and could not tell who was who. You see, spiritually, you have been made alive. As a speaking spirit, enemies cannot discern who is speaking. It is your own thoughts that cause you to see yourself as disqualified or seated in the same position of power as Christ. Your words should produce life and come from the heavenly dominion, which is our positioned place.
Remember, children always have everything needed at birth to equip them to do anything their Father can do. At salvation, everything needed for you to be like Jesus was placed in your spirit. From here, we begin to adapt to a new way of life, living from the spirit. We operate, walk and talk, hear and see things of the divine realm so we can transition into a mature Christ like life.
John 3:34 – “For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the spirit by measure.”
We must begin to recognize that just as Jesus was sent into earth as an ambassador of heaven, we too have been sent. We come into this world in an earth suit which is simply a house that ‘the real you’ dwells inside of. You are a spirit and must begin to discern that the same anointing Jesus operated in resides within you. You have the same Father; Jesus was simply the firstborn. In that sense, you can discover that you and Jesus are twins-identical twins. When we know who we are, we learn what we have and by knowing what we possess, we can give it away to anyone in need.
John 1:4 – “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
John 5:26 – “For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.”
John 5:21 – “For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the son quickeneth whom he will.”
We can see that Jesus never had to ask the Father what to do. Jesus knew what He had been given and knew the purpose of having the life of God was to give that same life to others. He has come and given us the life of God so that we can share His life as a gift to the hurting. The very same life and spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is alive and active inside of your body eagerly awaiting to reveal His life to everyone. You are His vessel to flow through. As you stay connected to the source of life, the life of God will be released through you.
I once heard a phrase that impacted my life, and I still remind myself of it daily. It will benefit you also. It reads: In these clothes is a woman (or man) in whom God dwells! Brothers and Sisters, we have our origins in a heavenly kingdom. We are heavenly born and sent into this earth on a mission: to release the life and nature of God by invading earth with heavens realities. We are not of this world but have been sent to transform it. We are releasers of the divine nature and power of God. We are the anointed ones of God upon this earth.
What Does the Bible Say About Us Being Like Jesus?
We have already covered much of this topic, but I would like to conclude with this one final verse.
Romans 6:4 states, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Notice the phrases “like as” and “even so.” This means to the same degree. Just as Jesus died to sin, sickness, and limitations of the world’s expectations and experiences, so we too have become dead to them. Therefore, we now walk in a new kind of life. It is a heavenly life filled with the life of God. Just as Jesus lived, we have the potential to walk in His footsteps to the very same degree. He displayed the kind of life that is possible for every believer. He is our prototype.
Romans 6:5 says, “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.”
Have we discovered that the Christian life is not about the afterlife but about living in a heavenly realm while abiding on earth? Can we see that the Christian life is not about behavior modification but a radical transformation in which a new creature was Fathered by God? Ponder this new reality that the creature carries everything necessary to live like Jesus on earth. There is no separation. Lastly, whatever pedestal you put Jesus on, put yourself on that same pedestal, for you are identical to Him.
