How do you see physical healing as it relates to receiving it and walking in it? Do you see healing as a provision, or something you have to attain at a future time? In this blog post, I’m going to explain how healing is a provision already provided by Christ, not something we have to attain, or get from God, in the future.
It Is Finished
In John 19:30 Jesus proclaimed, “It is finished….”.
What was finished? Sin. The sin that Adam unloosed upon mankind. Jesus conquered sin.
What is the result of sin? Sickness and disease. Now, since Jesus dealt with the sin of the world, He also cut off its fruit.
So much took place at the cross of Christ over 2000 years ago. It is there that everything we would ever need to live a healthy life was provided. This means we can look at healing as a provision. Healing is not a promise; it has already been released and made available for you to partake. A promise implies a future time to come, while a provision reveals what has already taken place. We no longer need to try to obtain what Jesus has accomplished for us. We rest in His work.
In those 3 words, IT IS FINISHED, lies so much power. When we understand the complete work that Christ did for us, our faith will stem from His victory cry. The foundation of our faith is to be placed in the work of Christ. His work was to bare the wages of our sin and provide us with righteousness. Sin left us disfigured; Jesus came to resurrect us into a new creation in Christ making us right. He provided you with a sinless life. With no sin, there is no sickness.
Physical Healing Is Provided For By the Atonement of Christ
God who is rich in mercy and kindness was faithful to provide physical healing for you before you had the need. That is good news.
Romans 8:32 states, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
Did you notice that it is with the sacrifice of one man that all things are freely given? Peter refers to it as all things that pertain to life and godliness.
Our Father has set us up for success. He has given us an inheritance that includes everything we need to thrive in this world. Healing has been given and made available to us all. It is all included in one atonement.
The one sacrifice for sin, once and for all time has also taken our sickness upon Himself. The same one who forgave us is the same one who healed us. He accomplished all of this at the same time. Do you see it? Just as forgiveness is a provision of Jesus’ sacrifice, so healing is a provision as well. To be forgiven is to be healed.
There is one atonement for sin and His atonement produces many benefits.
By the crucifixion of Christ, the lives of mankind are forever changed. At His cross, death was defeated; it lost all power. Life was also given, a new sinless life. We are no longer waiting for God to do anything; He did it all through Jesus. He took away all the negative side effects that Adam’s sin put upon us. Without the death that sin produced reigning in our lives, we have righteousness and healing flowing. We are plugged into the source of life and in this union, or connection, all good blessings flow.
This is not the result of anything that you have done. It is the product God makes when man and God become a united entity. There is no longer any distinction or separation between God and those born of Him.

Healing In the Old Covenant
Let’s journey all the way back to the first Passover. Here, we find the greatest mass healing of all time.
Back then, Israel lived as slaves. They were beaten, old, feeble and broken down in soul and body. Hope was lost and despair had sat in. Their skin was whipped and bleeding. Infection and disease were being spread. The life of a slave comes with pain and death.
But on this one night, the night of Passover, everything changed in an instant. A new day had dawned. Hope was shining and victory had come. It came by the blood of the lamb. As they partook of the lamb, death lost its ability to enter their homes.
Could it be that simple today? For you to enter a new day filled with health, strength and vitality, could you only need to partake of the Lamb, Jesus? Your life is found in Him. Leviticus tells us the life is in the blood. Your healing is found in His blood.
We also recognize the first Passover is only a type and shadow of Jesus Christ. Their experience should pale in comparison to ours. We have a better covenant based on the life of the Son of God. In the gospel of John, Jesus tells us He is the bread of life. This is a heavenly bread that has come down from heaven. This is to be our daily bread, our source of life. We no longer need to try to obtain healing; Jesus has loosed healing to us. It is found as we partake of the Lamb.
There is an interesting verse in Exodus 23:25 which reads: “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”
The phrase “take away” means to “turn off”. Let us turn off sickness today. Let us change our mind about what we have. You have been given the life of God. Sickness is not yours.
Identifying Yourself With Physical Healing
Throughout the Bible, we see a common phrase. We are told to put off some things and to put on other things. By faith, we can go ahead and turn off sickness in our minds. We can put on a new mindset that just as we are forgiven, to the same degree we are the healed of the Lord. Let your faith (your belief) be seen in your countenance. Let your joy and hope be heard by others. The Lord has done great things for you, and He has provided healing to your body. Jesus has come and He has taken away all your sin and sickness and He bore it in your place. Apply your faith to what the faith of Jesus has accomplished. His faith took these ill effects of sin away from you. He finished sin and He gave you a new life. Change your mind about your belief in sickness. It has no power any longer.
